Here are your answers:

2. When we say place something on the North it means the wall that is in the North direction of the house or room. (So in other words when we place something on the Northern wall, it will face South).

I always have confusion with placement . Apart from wall clocks, in general when it is said to place something in north. Is it north section of room or simply facing north direction ?
For example, wall clock must be placed on a wall that is in the north of the room, or should be place clock on any wall but it must face north direction. Can you clear what is meant when someone says north direction/ north facing
